INCO Triangle

The first issue of the INCO Triangle was printed in September of 1936. The Inco Triangle was intended as a monthly publication to keep employees and their families aware of what was happening in the company, as well as to its employees socially. No issues of the Triangle were published between December 1939 and April 1944. In 1973 the name changed from 'Inco Triangle' to 'the triangle', then it was simply titled 'Triangle' and it finished its run as the "Inco Triangle" once again. The last issue of the Inco Triangle was published in June of 1998 (volume 57, number 6). As much of each publication refers to social events, recreational activities, and the stories of retiring individuals, in the descriptions of early issues, articles have been listed and images referred to, that may be of interest to those specifically looking for highlights in mining history as it pertained to INCO, as well as to new equipment and innovations in the mineral industry at large. Also chosen, are articles of interesting historical occurrence in Sudbury and Port Colborne, Ontario, as well as Thompson Manitoba, cities where Inco had its Canadian operations. Weather, world events, images that depict local buildings or in some other way seem significant, but may not be directly related to mining per say, are also at times included in the issue descriptions. At first the Triangle was published at a size of 22x30 cm, later its size diminished to 21x27.5 cm, but it finished off its years in a newsprint style format at 28x43.5 cm.
