Wireless condition monitoring of underground mobile & remote mining Machinery

The overall goal of the proposed research is to be able to detect incipient faults and avoid catastrophic failures of mobile and remotely located machinery operating in underground mining environments. The proposed work will involve the design of a system capable of detecting incipient faults in machinery, compressing and transmitting the machine health information to maintenance and production personnel using underground wireless networking technology and established protocols.
