Sustainable Energy Recovery from Mines

Dr. John Ashley Scott
Principal Investigator: Dr. John Ashley Scott
Professor of Chemical Engineering, Laurentian University

A study on the value of geothermal energy (all sources of heat generated underground), both during the mine's active life, and closure. It will look at the energy content contained within water and where feasible, airstreams with a view to maximize sustainable economic recovery and reuse. The value to the mine and community, not just savings, but reduced green house emissions will be addressed.
