Fostering Innovation Through Collaboration
Bora Ugurgel, B.Sc., M.B.A.
The newly established Innovation and Prosperity Office (IPO) at CEMI demonstrates a commitment to collaborate with local small to medium enterprises (SMEs). The Innovation and Prosperity Office acts as CEMI's liaison with SMEs in order to accelerate the further development of their innovative initiatives and help bring them to market, so as to expand the economic activity in the mining supply and services sector in the Region of Greater Sudbury. The IPO also scans the globe for relevant R&D opportunities of benefit to local SMEs.
CEMI is established to play a leadership role in developing step-change innovation and providing a management interface between the mining industry in Ontario, academia, SMEs and service providers.
CEMI's role is to engage with all collaborators who have demonstrated excellence in their field, to deliver innovation to meet the mining industry needs, while helping to ensure that collaborators meet their individual measures of success. The IPO is an extension of CEMI whose core focus is to strengthen and aid in delivering the needs of SMEs in the Greater Sudbury Area.
